In 2011, we invited NASA:

The "photo op" space suits were a smashing hit! Cell phone and digital cameras were clicking away all weekend long. Ladies enjoyed "cozying up" to the life-size space suit and dreaming of an astronaut of their own.
The shuttle tire was a hit as well.
Families also enjoyed the poster and CD to take home.
Much thanks to NASA - you are the best!

In 2011:

Zoom on in to the fifteenth annual Lyon County Fly-In, Armed Forces Weekend, Saturday and Sunday, May 21 and 22, 2011, at the Silver Springs Airport for a weekend of fun-filled skies. The Fly-In is officially open from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Saturday and 3:00 PM Sunday and there will be a pancake breakfast each day, free to pilots who fly in, from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

The Lyon County Fly-In is about antique aircraft alongside modern military and fire-fighting planes. Meet pilots, builders, and restorers of military, antique, and ultra-light aircraft. Enjoy the “Young Eagles” program where we take young people aloft for their first off-the-ground experience.

The Lyon County Fly-In offers the Young Eagles First Flight program, where youth ages 8 to 17 can fly FREE with a general aviation pilot. This encourages young people to consider their future in math, science, or aviation. The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 1073 provides the pilots, who volunteer their time, their plane, and their expertise. Great thanks to EAA.

Young Eagles: You can download and complete the Registration Form in advance and get your parents to sign it. Bring it with you to the Lyon County Fly-In and soar with the Young Eagles!

The Lyon County Fly-In has flown a record number of kids in the past two years, and in 2011 we hope to top even that!
Above are some of our exhilarated and very happy Young Eagles.

The 2011 Fly-In will feature, among many others, these great planes of today and yesterday:
